Overall great and entertaining …trying to breach the gap between classical music and more popular hits with the cello being the lead of the orchestra! Good humor and fun…a little campy at times but kept us entertained !

Great Hauser

He's not only a musician but a great entertainer. He plays with passion and displays the versatility of the cello with ease. With his musical selections he wants to bring young people to enjoy the cello and yet keep his classical followers with him. We should be glad he wants to keep music a part of everyone's life.

Gorgeous, but description needed.

Hauser’s concert opened into a hauntingly gorgeous, romantic classical. Much of the concert, however, hinges on Latino covers. As a Latina, I found it engaging— but something that I would have loved to have disclosed in a thematic description to inform my expectations for the performance. Still! Hauser is one hell of a showman and I appreciated his attentiveness to the other talent surrounding him. It was a thoughtful performance that I would go see again.

Not what I expected!

Purchased the ticket to see Hauser 5 months ago. So was looking forward with great anticipation to an evening of classical music on 6 June at Carnegie Hall. Instead I got an hybrid which consisted mainly of latin pop music. Was disappointed! The few classical pieces Hauser played were hauntingly beautifully as usual. Hope he does a purely classical performance in NYC in the near future. I would definitely be there!

Not the Classical Hauser I Love

I looked forward to attending Hauser's concert for months. Upon arrival, check-in was a breeze and I easily found our seats on Row F stage left. Production had placed a massive speaker on the stage which impeded our view, however I was still excited because we could easily see center stage. When Hauser entered the stage I was immediately struck by how cringy he looked with an untucked and unbuttoned black rayon shirt, black jeans and black athletic shoes. Hauser began the show with some lovely classical music but didn't acknowledge the audience until after two, maybe three pieces had been performed. He seemed confused at times, his eyes seemed sunken and he didn't look well. Shortly into the concert a major genre shift occurred and turned into covers of Madonna, Ricky Martin, Shakira and Gloria Estefan. Not the traditional classical music I was hoping to experience. If you plan to attend, be prepared for upbeat Latino Contemporary Classical, otherwise it's a disappointment.

Loved the band and visiting artists, not Hauser

I found Hauser’s antics ridiculous and detracted from beauty of the music. Carolyn Campbell was incredible and the band exceptional artists, they carried the show. When Houser started playing laying down on stage it just felt like culmination of a joke; he acted like a bored child, bored of his own music. I drove over an hour to see this and was disappointed though I was delighted to see Carolyn perform.
